GLTLA, (Great Lakes Texas
Longhorn Association) serves the Midwest Breeders of Texas
Longhorns.
The purpose of the GLTLA
is the development, and promotion of the Texas Longhorn
breed of cattle. It is believed the Texas Longhorn breed of
cattle can make an important contribution to the improvement of
the cattle industry throughout the world. The education of
breeders engaged in the breeding and propagation of Texas
Longhorn cattle, and to assist, encourage, and educate others of
the benefits of Texas Longhorn cattle.
The Great Lakes Texas Longhorn
Association (GLTLA) was formed January 25, 1997 as an affiliate
of the International Texas Longhorn Association (ITLA) based in
Fort Worth Texas. The purpose of the GLTLA is the preservation
and promotion of the Texas Longhorn breed of cattle by field
days, seminars, shows and sales.
The GLTLA was incorporated
in the State of Michigan on May 13,1997 as a Domestic Nonprofit
Corporation. The GLTLA began with 25 members.
